Antoine Semenyo’s challenges on his way to stardom were quite numerous. He made the revelation in an interview with Sky Sports.
Before attaining his current status as an English top-flight player, he played for several other clubs. His journey to stardom wasn’t easy, as he encountered many challenges.

One of Antoine Semenyo’s challenges was getting rejected by clubs. The reason was that he was too small to play the men’s game. He revealed Arsenal, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace as the teams that rejected him.

According to him, he experienced the most challenging moment of his footballing career at Palace. He revealed that his trial with the club was prolonged, hence he was very sad when he wasn’t signed.
Another challenge is his numerous loan spells. Semenyo revealed that, after eventually getting signed by Bristol City, he initially struggled to be a regular in the first team, hence he spent so much time on loan. A notable one is his spell at Sunderland.
Semenyo also revealed his struggles with injuries from his days in the Sunday league through to the Premier League; a challenge, which made him spend a significant amount of time on the sideline.
But Semenyo’s perseverance has helped him overcome his challenges. He was signed by Bournemouth in 2023 and has become a mainstay in the starting lineup. He has also represented Ghana at the 2022 World, and the 2024 Afcon.
